EnerGenie LED bulbs

Almere, Netherlands, 06-10-2014

Gembird Europe BV is looking for market feedback with the Kickstarter campaign of their EnerGenie LED bulb.

The biggest problem of traditional LED bulbs is heat. The heat not only decreases overall performance of the bulb but also causes long-term degradation of the LEDs and even the bulb to totally fail and loss of efficiency. Gembird’s engineering team used their expert knowledge in the CPU cooling field to construct the most efficient LED bulb in the world.

Some like it BIG!

We have just released our new product, a 13.3” tablet computer.

This tablet features:

  • Extra large screen which allows accommodation of A4-size documents without scaling them down.
  • Award-winning (CES 2012) E-printer function facilitating document exchange between the tablet and the desktop/laptop PC.
  • Docking station which makes it possible to use the tablet as a replacement for desktop PC in the office.

With these features the tablet would become suitable for professional use. The tablet is ready for mass production.

However we wish to expose the idea to the market first before launching the product. With this purpose the tablet is placed at a crowd-funding website Indiegogo: http://igg.me/at/somelikeitbig/x/4902764

Till May 9 there is a possibility to pre-order the tablet via this website with a considerable discount.

Gembird Europe BV releases world’s most efficient LED bulb

Gembird Europe BV, based in the Netherlands manufacturer of computer products, has recently released the world’s most efficient LED bulb: http://igg.me/at/energenie-lamp/x/4902764.

The EnerGenie LED bulb features 135 lumens per watt, the longest ever lifetime, light angle of 330 degrees and a high Color Rendering Index of 85. The unprecedented performance is due to a patent-pending heat pipe design. The heat pipe is quite commonly used for the cooling of computer CPUs but has never been seen in the LED bulbs before. Optimal cooling and 3D placement of the LEDs lead to about 40% extra efficiency and much longer lifetime against traditional LED bulbs.

The EnerGenie LED bulb is available in 3 models – 8W, 10W and 12W, the latest being seen as a true replacement of 100W incandescent (producing 1600 lumens).

The EnerGenie LED bulb is a mature product, ready for mass production and the first shipments will be made in March 2014. Gembird Europe BV has published their product at a crowd-funding site Indiegogo not to raise funds but to get a feedback from the market. Contributions are seen as voting for the product to become available in the corresponding country. Contributors are actually invited to place the pre-orders with up to 60% discount from the expected retail prices. The Indiegogo campaign will expire on November 22, 2013.

e-Paper printer

e-Paper printer - Save a tree, print on EPPepp

On average, 17% of all printed documents in Europe are printed in vain, they are never looked at. If you add all printed documents that are used only once, or very briefly, you end up with an enormous amount of wasted paper. Everyone knows that this pile of wasted printouts should be reduced, but considering that most office workers find access to a printer even more important than access to internet or e-mail, we still have a long way to go. The largest hurdle in changing our printing habits is the lack of a decent alternative. Until now that is…

The innovative EnerGenie e-paper printer (EPP) enables users to print and read documents in the way they are used to, but without any use of paper. Just simply connect the EPP to a PC and it is automatically recognized as a USB-printer. The e-paper printer stores all printed documents and allows reading and editing them as if they were printed on normal paper.

The e-paper printer reduces printing costs and is one step closer to a paperless office.

More information can be found on the Energenie website.

EU Kijkdag 2012

EU-Kijkdag

On Saturday the 12th of may, the Geomatics Business Park in the Dutch town Marknesse was the home of the 2012 ‘EU-Kijkdag’ (EU sponsored projects information day). The EU is contributing to several innovation projects in The Netherlands. On this information day it was possible for the general public to observe these projects and become more familiar with the innovations that are taking place within their region. The EU also contributed to the development of Energenie’s e-Paper Printer and was therefore also present on that day.

During the day product demonstrations and information about this innovative new way of printing was offered to numerous visitors, including an official representative of the province of Flevoland.

Since you are reading this news item in English, you probably were not able to visit this information day in Markenesse. However, if you still want to know all the ins and outs of the EnerGenie e-Paper Printer, please feel free to visit our website.

First in the world e-printer wins an innovation award at CES

11-01-2012

Energenie has revealed its innovative new e-paper printer to the World on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) in Las Vegas.

The e-paper printer is Energenie’s latest innovation and is a final push towards a truly paperless office. No cartridge costs, fully silent, fast, plug and play operation - this is what will make the future users of this product very happy.

Therefore it is no coincidence that the CES has granted the e-paper an Innovations Award in the Computer Peripherals category. Products entered in this prestigious Innovations program are judged by a panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products. All Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering honoree products, including the e-paper printer, are featured on www.CESweb.org/Innovations.

Spread the word; let the world know that there finally is a real practical alternative for printing on paper – the Energenie e-paper printer.
